Hosting Infrastructure
NetBenefit's network infrastructure is designed to be highly available, stable and to deliver high-performance. NetBenefit is a multi-homed hosting provider with two data centre facilities. Connections between sites utilise dual, diversely routed links in order to provide stable and redundant inter-site connectivity.
Our Internet connectivity is via separate and redundant connections supplied by different, independent Tier 1 providers. Internet gateway routers at the two sites are configured for automated fail-over. This means that if Internet access via one access becomes unavailable, the other gateway will take over and provide continuity of service.
With two secure hosting facilities and full data mirroring between these, we can ensure that our network and data storage devices have no single point of failure. Network traffic is constantly monitored, and usage remains significantly below capacity at all times.
NetBenefit is also a member of LiNX (London Internet Exchange). This allows us to provide our clients with superior connection speeds through direct links with all major European Internet Service Providers.
NetBenefit will host our server(s) in one of their secure hosting suites in London. The data centres provide the following benefits:
Power
The power supplies are designed with several criteria in mind: very high capacity, stability, reliability and scope for easy expansion. The NetBenefit London facilities have a 2-Megawatt power supply per floor, backed up by dedicated UPS systems plus two further diverse mains supplies (scalable for future growth) with circuit breaker protection. This provides at least 1Kw secure power per square meter plus an on-site generator that can deal with total data centre load whilst recharging the UPS.
Physical Security
The NetBenefit building and facilities are totally secure. Our London hosting centres have a high security system that includes 24 x 7 monitoring by on-site personnel, video camera surveillance and a security breach alarm. CCTV monitoring and recording, 24-hour security guard, photo ID access and cabinet door alarms cover all parts of our facilities.
Environment
NetBenefit hosting facilities are fully environmentally controlled with redundant air conditioning, leak detection, fire and smoke detection and suppressant systems. Top of the range fire control equipment and early warning environmental alarm systems, Vesda, are installed throughout our facility to detect temperature levels, fire and smoke, humidity and unauthorised access. We also have a gas suppression system managed 24x7 with controlled shutdown.
The server rooms are fully air-conditioned with under floor cooling maintaining the temperature at 21°C ± 3°C and humidity at 50% ± 10%.
